Kameran pohjalevyä ei tarvitse irrottaa. Se olisi kuitenkin triviaali operaatio: Pohjalevyä pitää kiinni kolme pientä pohjalevyn läpi menevää ruuvia.
Seuraavaksi on vuorossa muovinen peitelevy (1-9) ja itse objektiivi.

Huoltomanuaali neuvoo operaation seuraavasti:
A. Peel off the rubber grips (1-12, 1-23 and 1-24) carefully so as not to damage it. You need only to open only the parts (in the corners) above the screw heads
B. Remove screws (1-10 and 1-11), and remove the right grip assembly (1-9).
C. Peel off the leather (1-11) carefully so as not to damage it, remove two screws (1-43), and remove the front right grip assembly (1-36) and cylinder (1-42).
D. Remove five screws (1-7) and remove the lens barrel assembly (1-25) from the camera body.

Kun ruuvit on irti, niin keskiosa paneelista, sekä objektiivi liikkuu. Mutta ei ne lähde silti irti rungosta. Ilmeisesti virityskoneisto jumittaa vielä.
Hieman taiteilua ja objektiivi lähti irti. En ole kuitenkaan aivan varma miten (todennäköisesti takaisinlaittaminen tulee olemaan hieman hankalaa).
